Rescued! or Rehomed?

“Rescue” Is it such a potent word? When you are describing how you came to be in possession of an ex-racing greyhound.
I have had 35 rescued greyhounds! Or they could also be described as rehomed, or adopted, but the end result is they now have/had a much better life in front of them than they have/had had up to now. So had
they been rescued from that earlier life, or just rehomed from their previous existence?
However, I use the term “Rescued” because that is what I have do...ne, I have rescued them from a bad experience, and I don’t just mean the greyhound racing industry. Of that 35, just 7 came straight from a decent racing kennel, and the rest from greyhound rescue establishments, of which there was 3.
One particular rescue I was closest too supplied me with the majority of my hounds, and knowing what went on at this rescue? was why I took in many of their greyhounds. Lack of real money was one of the reasons for the basic care, if not the whole reason, but trying to do things when money is tight means you have to cut corners just to survive. Up to now they have managed to keep going, albeit with just a few skeletons rattling in the cupboards, but for how long?

I have rescued greyhounds from this rehoming kennels, because that is what I have done, rescued them.
The hounds I have taken on from there were their very hard to home hounds. I stepped in and took them because I couldn’t leave them there no longer as they looked so sad and abandoned. I’LL clarify that, as they had all lived in another home prior to me, but were then returned when their circumstances changed, or the previous owners couldn’t be bothered anymore.
The video I post with this is my Fonzie and Danny enjoying themselves in my garden. Both were from the rescue, and both had been dumped back into the rescues kennels separately along with one excuse or another, I’m just glad I made them happy for the time they were with me..

Greyhound people, both Pro and Anti are normally quite decent people who look after, and love their Hounds. However, there are some so far down the evolution...
